Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Territory Training Safety provides Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) to support your qualification journey. RPL is a process that acknowledges your skills, knowledge, and experience gained through work and learning. This recognition can be acquired at any point in life through formal or informal education, employment, or activities such as volunteering, whether in Australia or overseas.
Unique Student Identifier (USI)
As of 1 January 2015, the Australian Government Department of Industry mandates that all Vocational Education and Training (VET) students undertaking nationally recognised training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
The USI is a randomly generated alphanumeric code, provided free of charge, that remains with the student for life. It records all nationally recognised VET training undertaken by the student.
From 1 January 2015, RTOs are prohibited from issuing certificates to students without a USI. Therefore, we strongly recommend that students apply for their USI before enrolling in any training. While we can assist in creating a USI during the enrolment process, this may lead to delays.
Creating a USI takes approximately five minutes and can be done online using the link below:
